Spring Season Continues

LAS VEGAS – (April 3, 2009) – The defending MWC champion BYU women’s soccer team visited Las Vegas on Sat., March 23 for spring soccer matches against MWC foes UNLV and Utah and returned home without a loss.

In the first game of the day, the Cougars and the Rebels reached a hard fought 0-0 tie after 70 minutes in the shortened game.

BYU emerged victorious in the second game of the day, topping in-state rival Utah 2-1. Forward Kassidy Christensen corralled a rebound a put it in the back of the net for the first goal. Jennie Marshall successfully made her way from midfield towards the Utah goal and was able to fire a shot to put BYU up for good.

The spring schedule continues for the Cougars as the travel to College Station, Texas on Sat. April 4 for two games. BYU will face 2008 foe LSU at 3:00 p.m., will take on Texas A&M at 7:00 p.m.
