Cougars Look to Continue Winning Ways on the Road

PROVO -- Riding a three-game winning streak, the Cougars travel to California this week to face the No. 20 Cal Berkeley Bears on Thurs., Sept. 25 in an afternoon match that starts at 4:00 p.m.

After leading 1-0 almost the entire game, Cal fell to No. 7 Texas 2-1 on Sunday, Sept. 21. Sophomore Lisa Kevorkian leads the team with six goals in eight games. Sophomore forward Alex Morgan, who has played with both the U-17 and U-20 U.S. teams, is second with five goals. In addition to losing to Texas, Cal also lost to No. 8 Texas A&M 1-0 last week.

The Cougars are coming off of a strong 2-0 win over previously undefeated Michigan State at South Field last Saturday. Junior defender Andrea Willis and freshman forward Jennie Marshall scored for BYU. The win moved BYU to 4-0 at home this season and 6-4 overall.

The team also travels to Logan, Utah to face Utah State on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 4:00 p.m.

Fans can catch the Cougars at South Field again on Thursday Oct. 9, when the team hosts MWC foe UNLV at 7:00 p.m.
