PROVO -- The BYU women's soccer team shutout Nevada-Reno in an exhibition game that saw seven different Cougars score a goal on the way to a 10-0 win.

The Cougars incoming class of freshman shined in the exhibition game with five of the team's goals being converted by the new recruits.

"I was really pleased with the way the team executed tonight," said BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "It's nice to see them executing what we worked on."

Junior Krissa Campbell and senior Jennifer Fielding alternated goals to start out the game, scoring two goals apiece and putting the Cougars up 4-0 in only the 23rd minute.

Freshmen Annie Zwahlen and Amberlea Anderson got in on the action as the two each scored a goal in the closing minutes of the first period to put the Cougars up 6-0 at half time.

In the second period, and playing with mainly their reserves, the Cougars continued to push the ball as Zwahlen scored her second goal of the night off an assist from Anderson and freshman Courtney Asay.

Asay then scored a goal of her own and 30 seconds the Cougars scored another goal as junior Erin Stock booted in a shot.

In the closing second freshman Bobbie Tillotson scored the final game of the game and sending the Cougars into the regular season with a strong 10-0 win.

"We still have a lot of work to do before our first game," said Rockwood. "Everyone played good today, and overall I am pleased."

The No. 24 Cougars host No. 17 Michigan in the regular season home opener on Friday, August 29 at 7:00 p.m. (MDT) at South Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on KBYU and BYUTV.
