NCAA Tournament Brackets Announced

PROVO, Utah. — BYU women’s soccer has been placed as the No. 6 seed in the NCAA DI Women’s Soccer Tournament Selection Show, the league announced Monday.

The Cougars will be hosting Utah Valley University in the first round of the tournament on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. MST on South Field. BYU and UVU last met on Sept. 10, 2022 when the Wolverines beat the Cougars 4-2 on South Field.

Going 10-2-6 in the regular season and 6-0-3 in West Coast Conference (WCC) play, the Cougars finished ranked No. 2 in conference and No. 15 nationally, with an RPI ranking of No. 20. 

Under the direction of head coach Jennifer Rockwood, BYU has made 22 NCAA tournament appearances, including five Sweet Sixteens, two Elite Eights and one College Cup finals appearance in 2021. Last year, BYU was the No. 12 seed and was named the NCAA College Cup National Runner-Up. 

First-round games are scheduled to take place Nov. 11-13 at 32 different campus sites. The second- and third-round games will occur at eight campus sites, and those rounds will take place Nov. 18 and 20.

The four quarterfinal games will take place Nov. 25 and 26, also on campus sites. The 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer College Cup is scheduled to take place Dec. 2-5 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.
