PROVO, Utah — Mikayla Colohan has been named a finalist for the Class of 2022 Honda Sport Award for Soccer, as announced by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) Tuesday afternoon.

Colohan is one of four finalists, with Jaelin Howell of Florida State University, Gabby Provenzano of Rutgers University and Kesley Turnbow from Santa Clara University joining the list as well.

The Honda Sport Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 46 years to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports and signifies “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.”  The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2022 Honda Cup which will be presented on a telecast on CBS Sports Network.

The soccer finalists were selected by a panel of coaches and experts from the United Soccer Coaches Association. The Honda Sport Award winner will be announced later this week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools. Each NCAA member institution has a vote.

Colohan is a senior midfielder from Kaysville, Utah, and led BYU to its first-ever NCAA Women's College Cup, finishing as National Runner-Up. She is also a finalist for the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy and is a three-time First Team All-American. The three-time West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year finished her career with 53 goals, 39 assists and 145 points which rank second in all categories at BYU.
