KANSAS CITY, Mo. — United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) have announced the three women’s finalists for the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy, featuring BYU senior midfielder Mikayla Colohan.

Colohan is coming off a run in the NCAA Tournament, leading BYU to its first ever College Cup and national title game. Her 18 goals this season are the second most in the country. Her 15 assists are fourth most. Her 51 points are No. 1 in the country. Colohan finished her BYU career with 53 goals, 39 assists and 145 points, which is the second-most in all categories in BYU history.

The finalist list is based on voting by NCAA Division I women’s soccer coaches, with Kelsey Turnbow of Santa Clara and Jaelin Howell of Florida State voted on as the other two finalists.

The MAC Hermann Trophy has been awarded to the top women's collegiate player of the year annually since 1988, and a BYU women's soccer player has never won the award.

The 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 7, 2022 to formally announce this year’s winners.
