SAN MATEO, Calif. — BYU women’s soccer senior forward Mikayla Colohan was named West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Colohan’s offensive performance helped No. 15 BYU land a 6-1 victory over Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 16. In the 15th minute of the match, Colohan sent a right-footed blast to the top-left-corner, scoring goal number one for the Cougars. She then assisted on the next BYU goal, two minutes later, from Cameron Tucker. In the 40th minute, Colohan connected with Rachel McCarthy, who took the lead to 4-0. Colohan’s third assist of the night came in the 44th minute, when she sent a long ball for McCarthy, who sent the ball to Tucker for another BYU goal. Colohan’s three assists are tied for the most this season by a BYU player in a single game.

Colohan had one goal, three assists and five points this week as a whole. Colohan now has 46 goals in her career and 36 assists.

This award marks the fifth WCC weekly honor collected by a BYU player this season, and first individual honor for Colohan this season. Colohan is first in points (34), first in assists (12) and first in goals (11) in the WCC.

Throughout her career, Colohan has been awarded five WCC Player of the Week honors, and was also the 2019 and 2020 WCC Player of the Year.
