Colohan and Tucker named to Hermann Trophy Watchlist
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – BYU women's soccer All-American Mikayla Colohan and senior forward Cameron Tucker were named to the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy watchlist Thursday by the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club.
Since 1988, the MAC Hermann Trophy has been awarded annually to the top collegiate men and women’s soccer players in the nation.
Colohan has been named to the watchlist for the third year in a row, and has been named a semifinalist the past two seasons.
In 2020-21, Colohan headlined the postseason awards for BYU. The senior midfielder accounted for 11 goals and five assists on her way to being named the WCC Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. She was also named Academic All-WCC first team and All-WCC first team. The All-American was named to the first team in 2020-21 and 2019. Colohan is currently tied for sixth on the BYU All-Time scoring list with 37 goals.
Colohan was selected by the Orlando Pride with the 14th overall pick in the 2021 National Women's Soccer League Draft. She will continue to compete this season for BYU before going pro.
In 2020-21, Tucker recorded eight goals and a WCC-best eight assists. The senior forward was named to the All-WCC first team and was an Academic All-WCC honorable mention. Tucker continued to dominate for BYU with a hat-trick in the Cougars’ opening game against Utah and a five game scoring streak.
The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in collegiate soccer.
The winner will be announced Jan. 7, 2022 at an awards banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo.
