BYU Ranked No. 14 in first Coaches Poll
PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s soccer is ranked No. 14 in the first United Soccer Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.
While many of the teams ranked above BYU played in the fall, the Cougars are currently 3-2-0 (1-0-0 in West Coast Conference play) on the season. One of the teams BYU lost to, UCLA, is ranked No. 3 in the poll.
The only other WCC team in the top 25 is Pepperdine, at No. 22. BYU’s last WCC game was in the Cougars’ conference debut against San Francisco. Mikayla Colohan led the team to a 3-2 victory with a game-winning goal in the 72nd minute.
In the TopDrawerSoccer rankings, BYU sits at No. 21.
BYU beat Missouri in a shutout, 3-0 on Wednesday, and the Cougars’ now travel to Los Angeles to take on LMU on Saturday at 1 p.m. PST, looking for head coach Jennifer Rockwood’s 400th career win.
