Tucker named WCC Offensive Player of the Week
SAN MATEO, Calif. – Senior forward Cameron Tucker was named the West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
In BYU's first game of the 2020-21 season, Tucker led the then No. 10 ranked Cougars with a hat trick against Pac 12 rival Utah.
Tucker started the Cougars' scoring in the fifth minute to give BYU an early lead. The 2019 All-WCC honorable mention then scored again in the 37th and 74th minutes to secure the 5-1 victory over Utah.
In addition to the WCC honor, Tucker received the spring’s first National Player of the Week recognition from TopDrawerSoccer.
The Highland, Utah native first recorded a hat trick in the 2019 season against Kansas State on Sept. 21, 2019. Prior to that, the last person to record a hat trick was first team All-American Ashley Hatch on Oct. 3, 2016. Hatch went on to be the No. 2 player selected in the 2017 NWSL Draft.
