West Coast Conference Announces 2020-21 Women’s Soccer Schedule
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference released its 2020-21 women’s soccer schedule on Friday. The conference-only season is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, and will conclude on Saturday, April 17. The Cougars will play nine consecutive weeks leading up to the NCAA Selection show on April 18.
BYU women’s soccer kicks off the season at San Diego on Feb. 20 and plays its first home game on Feb. 27 against San Francisco. The Cougars’ nine-game conference slate features a matchup against each WCC team, with four home games and five away. The Cougars are scheduled to host San Francisco, Santa Clara, Gonzaga and Portland.

In 2019-20, BYU experienced a historic season after earning a 21-1-1 overall record, a second-consecutive West Coast Conference Championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the NCAA tournament. The Cougars’ lone loss came on the road against top-ranked Stanford in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Stanford went on to win the College Cup.
BYU concluded the 2019-20 season ranked No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Head coach Jennifer Rockwood earned WCC Coach of the Year. Mikayla Colohan and Elise Flake were named First Team All-American’s, and Alyssa Johnson earned Third Team All-American honors.
In the upcoming 2020-21 season, the Cougars return the 2019-20 WCC Player of the Year in Colohan who accounted for 16 goals and seven assists a season ago. Cameron Tucker returns for her senior year campaign as well after registering 12 goals and nine assists in 2019. The Cougars lost seven seniors but will return five of their starters for the 2020-21 season. The incoming class features five new athletes and BYU will also have two returned missionaries and three transfers joining the roster.
