Three transfers join BYU roster

Three transfers join the BYU women's soccer roster.

PROVO, Utah – BYU women's soccer head coach Jennifer Rockwood has added Grace Johnson, Brecken Mozingo and Natalee Wells to her roster.

The three transfers come from the University of Mississippi, UCLA and the University of Utah and all of them are Utah natives.

GRACE JOHNSON

Senior | Defender | Centerville, Utah | Univ. of Mississippi

Johnson joins the BYU roster after playing three seasons for Ole Miss. She had joined her sister Ella, who played for the Cougars before finishing her career at Mississippi. In her three years at Ole Miss, Johnson recorded four goals, four assists, 12 points and 23 shots in her 59 games played.

Prior to her college career, Johnson prepped at Viewmont High School in Utah where she was a three-time All-State player and went to the 5A quarterfinals in 2016. She also helped her club team to a state championship in 2017.

BRECKEN MOZINGO

Sophomore | Forward/Midfielder | Sandy, Utah | UCLA

With one year under her belt, Mozingo joins the Cougars after playing her freshman season for the Bruins. While with UCLA, she played in a total of six games and tallied a season-best 24 minutes at Oregon State.

Mozingo prepped at Alta High School in Sandy, Utah where she set a school record of 38 goals in 2016. With Utah Celtic FC she was a two-time state cup champion. In 2016, Mozingo was on the USYS All-Star Team for her age and then in 2019 she was named the UYSA/Tosh Female Athlete of the Year.

NATALEE WELLS

Junior | Defender | Alpine, Utah | Univ. of Utah

Wells joins the BYU roster after playing two seasons for the Utes. She played in every game for Utah in 2016 and 2017 while totaling eight assists and nine shots as a defender.

Prior to college, she attended Lone Peak High School where she was a 5A state semifinalist. With Celtic Storm, she was a three-time state cup champion and was a MaxPreps No. 5 recruit for the state of Utah. She was also a Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune All-State selection.
