Five players earn All-West Region honors
PROVO, Utah – Alyssa Jefferson, Rachel Bingham Lyman, Mikayla Colohan, Elise Flake and Sabrina Davis were named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Teams.
Jefferson, Lyman, Colohan and Flake received All-West First Team honors while Davis was named to the All-West Second Team. This is the second year in a row that Lyman, Flake and Colohan were first team honorees. Davis was recognized on the second team in 2018.
Anchoring a strong BYU defense, Jefferson, Lyman, and Davis only allowed 15 goals all season and recorded a total of 14 shutouts. Lyman tallied six assists and Jefferson added four. In goal, Davis grabbed 63 saves.
Colohan and Flake led the Cougar offense as Colohan found the back of the net 16 times and Flake became the second player in BYU history to score 20 goals in a single season. Colohan also added seven assists and 98 shots to total 39 points while Flake boasted 47 points as she added seven assists and 81 shots.
