PROVO, Utah – The No. 4 BYU women's soccer team was awarded a No. 2 seed and will host Boise State in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. MST.

2019 NCAA Tournament Bracket

“I’m excited with the two seed and the potential to play some home games but we’ve got to take care of business in the first game,” BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. “You never know what you’re going to get and I think it is a great draw for us. We play well on South Field in front of our home crowd and I think playing at home is a huge advantage for us. Boise State has had a fantastic year and we’ll have our hands full. Hopefully, we can take it one game at a time and get some good results.”

2019 has been a historic season as BYU is the only remaining undefeated team in the nation after going 18-0-1 overall in its 25th season as a Division I program and winning the West Coast Conference Championship for the second-consecutive season. In a dominant year, the Cougars have outscored their opponents 68 to nine.

The 2019 tournament appearance marks the 20th time BYU has made it to the NCAA tournament and the first time the Cougars have been a No. 2 seed in the tournament. BYU was a No. 1 seed in 2012 and a No. 4 seed in 2002, 2005 and 2016. In 2018, the Cougars fell short 2-1 at TCU in the first round.

WCC opponents Santa Clara and Pepperdine will also be playing in the tournament with the Broncos hosting California and the Waves traveling to Texas Tech.

Tickets are currently available to purchase for season ticket holders and Cougar Club members. Tickets will be open to the general public on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 12 p.m. MST.
