No. 4 Cougars on the road at San Francisco
PROVO, Utah – The No. 4 BYU women's soccer team continues West Coast Conference action on the road at San Francisco on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. PDT.
BYU vs. San Francisco Game Notes
IN THE RANKINGS. Both Top Drawer Soccer and United Soccer Coaches have BYU ranked No. 4 in this week's polls while the NCAA RPI rankings place the Cougars at No. 17. Top Drawer Soccer recently released its Top 100 Players and Top 100 Freshmen, placing Mikayla Colohan at No. 17 and Elise Flake at No. 61 in the Top 100 Players. Jamie Shepherd and SaraJayne Affleck claimed the No. 10 and 48 spots in the Top 100 Freshmen poll.
LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. At South Field, BYU took a 3-1 win over San Diego on Saturday night. The Toreros shocked the Cougar defense in the 12th minute as a goal gave San Diego an early 1-0 lead. However, a goal by Colohan 22 seconds later evened the game. Goals by Cameron Tucker in the 20th and Flake in the 47th gave BYU the advantage as the defense held off the Torero pressure. The Cougars racked up 27 shots on the game.
IN THE WCC. BYU currently sits alone in first place in the WCC rankings with a total of 16 points and a 5-0-1 record. The Cougars tie came in the first match against Santa Clara. The Broncos are in second place with 14 points, Pepperdine follows with 12 and Gonzaga and San Francisco have 10 points apiece. Flake leads the conference in goals (15) and points (33) while Colohan leads the way in total shots with 74. In goal, Sabrina Davis also leads the league in save percentage (.811).

THE DONS. Last week, San Francisco split its games as the Dons beat San Diego (2-1) in overtime before losing in overtime against Portland (1-2). In conference play, San Francisco's other two wins came over Pacific and Saint Mary's. Samantha Jehnings leads the offense with nine goals and Madison Miciah has eight goals and nine assists. The Dons have scored a total of 36 goals while allowing 30.
COUGARS VS. DONS. BYU leads the series 7-2 and picked up the most recent victory in 2018 after topping San Francisco 4-0 at South Field. The last time the Cougars played at Negoesco Stadium, the Dons picked up 2-1 victory over the Cougars.
