PROVO, Utah — The BYU women’s soccer team finished the 2019 spring season with an 8-1-1 record after playing in Las Vegas, Arizona and Utah.

The Cougars started out the spring competition with a four-game tournament in Las Vegas. The tournament kicked off with a 3-0 win over UNLV and was immediately followed by a 2-1 loss to USC. Cameron Tucker, Bella Folino, Mikayla Colohan and Elise Flake each found the back of the net in the first pair of games.

The tournament closed with back-to-back wins after beating the Rebels 2-1 and Cal State Northridge 1-0 with Flake scoring in each game and Folino adding a goal against UNLV.

To close out March, BYU traveled to Arizona to take on the Wildcats and Sun Devils. The Cougar offense combined for seven goals, beating Arizona 3-1 and Arizona State 4-2. Tucker, Colohan and Makaylie Moore scored a pair of goals while Flake found the back of the net once.

BYU returned to South Field in April to host the Argentina Women's National Team. A goal by Ashton Brockbank led the Cougars to a 1-1 draw. That weekend, BYU topped in-state rival Utah 2-1 at the RSL Training Academy as Tucker and Folino scored.

The season closed out with consecutive games against Colorado and Dixie State at South Field. The Cougars earned two more wins after scoring a combined five goals. Tucker scored a goal in both games while Flake, Ellie Maughan and Ella Ballstaedt added a goal.

On the season, Tucker led the way with six goals while Flake followed with five. Folino and Colohan scored three apiece and Moore added two. Brockbank, Maughan and Ballstaedt rounded out the scoring with one goal each.

The 2019 fall schedule will be released soon with the season kicking off in August.
