Gates named to WCC All-Academic Team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Madie Siddoway Gates was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team the WCC announced on Wednesday.

Gates was one of 11 players selected to the all-academic team. She had previously been named Honorable Mention in 2016 and 2017.

Eight other members of the BYU women's soccer squad received All-Academic Honorable Mention: Rachel Bingham Lyman, Lizzy Braby, Mikayla Colohan, Elise Flake, Josie Guinn, Alyssa Jefferson, Sabrina Macias Davis and Makaylie Moore.

A senior, Gates, boasts a 3.88 GPA and is studying psychology. She will graduate in April.

Braby and Flake are being mentioned for the second time.

To be considered for the conference's all-academic team, a student-athlete must have a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and play significant minutes throughout the season.
