Cougars post 2-2 record at midpoint of spring season

PROVO, Utah – At the midpoint of the 2018 spring season, the BYU women’s soccer team has posted a 2-2 record.

In the first game on March 3, the Cougars scrimmaged the newest member of the National Women’s Soccer League, the Utah Royals. Although official stats were not kept, BYU allowed a goal in the 19th minute, for a 1-0 loss.

The Cougars returned home as they hosted the University of Utah at the Indoor Practice Facility on Mar. 10. BYU fell 3-1, despite getting on the board first.

BYU traveled to UNLV for a two-game series on Mar. 17. First, the Cougars took on Cal State University, Northridge, earning their first win of the spring season, 3-0. In the second game, BYU took a 2-0 win over the Rebels.

Currently, the Cougars are led by Cameron Tucker who has scored two goals: one against Utah and one against UNLV. Mikayla Colohan, Natalie Clark and Lizzy Braby each notched a goal against CSUN. Madie Siddoway Gates scored the second goal in the win over UNLV.

On Apr. 7, BYU travels to Arizona as it takes on the University of Arizona at 1 p.m. MDT and Arizona State at 7 p.m. MDT. The final spring season competition will occur on Apr. 14 at 10 a.m. MDT on South Field versus Utah State.
