BYU on the road at Arizona, faces Kansas at South Field
PROVO, Utah — The BYU women's soccer team faces Arizona in Tucson on Friday, September 15, at 7 p.m. MDT, then returns home to take on Kansas on Monday, September 18, at 1 p.m. MDT at South Field.
BYU Storylines
The Cougars (1-3-3) earned their first win of the season at Oregon State on Monday, scoring three goals in the first half. The three goals matched what BYU had scored in the previous six games combined.
Sophomore forward Elise Flake found the back of the net in the third minute of the game after connecting with fellow senior forwards Avery Walker and Nadia Gomes. In the 24th minute, Walker scored just outside the goal box to extend BYU's lead. Just before halftime, Madie Lyons Mathews took a shot outside the 18-yard box, scoring her first goal of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Hannah Clark has two shutouts on the season and has tallied 27 saves. Walker leads the offense with two goals and one assist for a total of five points.
Arizona Storylines
The Wildcats (2-2-2) are coming off a 1-0 win over Texas Tech on Sunday. Sophomore Samantha Falasco scored in the 88th minute off a corner kick to give Arizona the win.
Senior Gabi Stoian has recorded two of the Wildcats' five goals. Arizona has only allowed four goals this season.

Kansas Storylines
The Jayhawks (5-2-1) travel to Utah as they take on the Utes on Friday and the Cougars on Monday. Kansas is bouncing back from a 5-1 loss to No. 22 Texas A&M. Junior forward Grace Hagan and sophomore midfielder Sophie Maierhofer each have three goals, combining for six of the Jayhawks 13 goals.
Kansas was picked to finish second, behind No. 6 West Virginia in the Big 12 preseason poll.
