No. 17 Cougars take on Cal State Fullerton
PROVO, Utah — The No. 17 BYU women's soccer team hosts Cal State Fullerton this Friday at South Field.
BYU Storylines
The Cougars earned their first shutout of the season in a 0-0 tie against Ohio State in their home opener earlier this week. BYU was unable to find the back of the net despite creating some dangerous opportunities. Sophomore midfielder Lizzy Braby led the team with six shot attempts and senior forward Nadia Gomes recorded four.
BYU will seek their first win of the 2017 season against Fullerton.
Cal State Fullerton Storylines
The Titans are coming off of a 2-1 victory at Fresno state, for their second win of the season. Despite trailing early in the first half, Fullerton came back in the second half scoring in the 48th and 59th minutes, respectively.
Similar to BYU in the West Coast Conference, the Titans were picked to finish second, behind Long Beach State, in the Big West Conference. Returning are 25 squad members, including 10 starters.
