PROVO, Utah – Summer soccer camps for 2017 concluded at BYU on Thursday. Once again, thousands of campers from around the world came to receive instruction and hone their skills at the Cougars soccer fields and facilities.

"We love doing camps here," BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. "It's something we spend a lot of time and energy on. Players get to come from all across the country and get to know us as a staff and a team. It's fantastic for our program."

Through one Mini Cubs (ages 5-7) camp, two Cubs (ages 7-12) camps and four Academy (ages 10-18) camps, 2,813 girls and boys participated in BYU Soccer Camp this summer.

The camps provide Rockwood's staff and players an opportunity to work as counselors over the summer and teach younger players. Much of the current women's soccer team helped with camps this season.

"Our players are great role models and they know the game so well," Rockwood said. "These young players love to come here and work with them."

Campers experienced drills, scrimmages, training games and competitions. Academy participants enjoyed meals, a BYU team fireside, camp T-shirts and awards.

Registration for future camps, when available, can be found at BYUsportscamps.com.
