SAN BRUNO, Calif. – BYU women's soccer placed 17 student-athletes on the West Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for 2016-17, the league announced Thursday.

Six Cougars — Bizzy Bowen, Madie Siddoway, Paige Hunt Barker, Stephanie Ney, Brynlee Welch and Brittain Steiner — earned Gold Honors (4.00-3.75). Elena Medeiros, Lizzy Braby, Kayci Griffin and Michele Vasconcelos received Silver Honors (3.74-3.50). Bronze Honors (3.49-3.00) were claimed by Elise Flake, Miranda Bailey Topham, Danika Bowman, Ashley Hatch, Alyssa Jefferson, Hannah Clark and Taylor Isom.

Bowen, Siddoway, Barker, Ney, Steiner, Medeiros, Vasconcelos, Topham, Hatch, Clark and Isom are all repeat recipients of commissioner's honors. As a team, BYU women's soccer placed three more student-athletes on the honor roll than it did last season.

Student-athletes' grades received at WCC institutions qualified them for the award. To be considered, the following criteria needed to be met:

1) Individuals must have earned a varsity letter in a sport which the conference determined a champion in the recently completed academic year.

2) The cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 must be based on a 4.0 scale.

3) The individuals must have successfully completed an average of at least 12 graded credit hours (non pass-fail hours) per term.

The WCC Commissioner's Honor roll is separated into three categories based on GPA. They are as follows:

Gold: 4.00-3.75

Silver: 3.74-3.50

Bronze 3.49-3.00
