Gomes, Flake and Bowen leading BYU to 6-1 spring

PROVO, Utah – Nadia Gomes, Elise Flake and Bizzy Bowen have led BYU women's soccer to a 6-1 spring exhibition season in 2017.

Gomes, despite missing two games, is the leading scorer with five goals. The senior forward netted two against reigning-national champ USC in a 2-0 win on Saturday. Flake, a sophomore, has four goals to her credit and the senior Bowen has a goal and five assists.

Other goal scorers this spring are Madie Siddoway (2), Rachel Bingham (2), Madie Lyons (1), Avery Walker (1) and Brittain Steiner (1). Lyons has three assists and Siddoway, Walker, Stephanie Ney and Alyssa Jefferson each have one assist.

In addition to USC, the Cougars have beaten Westminster, Utah Valley, UNLV (twice) and Utah State. Their lone loss came against UCLA.

BYU has a spring game scheduled against Utah on April 15 at Haws Field (just west of the BYU Indoor Practice Facility). More details will be forthcoming on the Cougars' Twitter account.
