Isom invited to U-23 national camps in Portland and Orlando

PROVO, Utah – Taylor Isom received an invitation and will take part in back-to-back United States Women's National Team U-23 camps in Portland and Orlando, beginning on March 23.

The 2016 West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Isom is one of seven defenders on both rosters. She is also the only player from the WCC on the Portland camp squad.

Isom will report to camp on Thursday in Portland. Training and competition will go through April 1. As part of the second-annual Thorns Spring Invitational, the U-23s will play three games against National Women's Soccer League teams at Providence Park, home of the NWSL's Portland Thorns and the Portland Timbers of the MLS.

Camp in Orlando will begin on April 2, with games on April 5 against the University of Central Florida and April 7 against the NWSL's Orlando Pride. Isom is one of just six players who will participate in both camps.

The U-23 squad is the top national team under the full USWNT. The teams for the Portland and Orlando camps consist mostly of top college players. BJ Snow, former coach of UCLA women's soccer, will have head coaching duties.

Isom's former BYU teammate, Ashley Hatch, participated in the U-23 camp in January.
