Vasconcelos named Hero Sports All-American
PROVO, Utah – BYU senior forward Michele Vasconcelos was named to the Hero Sports All-America team on Monday.
Vasconcelos was one of just 11 Division I women's players named to the team. Her late-season scoring flourish and high shooting percentage were cited.
The honors continue to roll in for the Sandy, Utah native, who was also named Fan Choice Player of the Year by Hero Sports. Following league play, Vasconcelos was named West Coast Conference Player of the Year.
Vasconcelos closed out the regular season with eight goals and six assists in the last eight games. She totaled 16 goals and 13 assists on the season, making her just one of just two players in the nation with at least 13 of each. She ranked fifth nationally with 2.14 points per game.
