PROVO, Utah — BYU senior forward Ashley Hatch is one of four women's college soccer nominees for the Honda Sport Award, an honor given annually to the top athlete in 12 NCAA-sanctioned women's sports.

Hatch joins Kadeisha Buchanan (West Virginia), Savannah McCaskill (South Carolina) and Cassie Miller (Florida State) on the list of nominees for the 2016 award.

The award is presented by The Collegiate Women's Sports Awards (CWSA). Nominees were chosen by a panel of coaches from the National Collegiate Coaches Association (NSCAA). Administrators from more than 1,000 member schools will vote on the award before the winner is announced next week.

The winner of the award will become a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, which will be presented next summer.

Hatch has already been named an NSCAA First Team All-American and a member of the All-West Coast Conference First Team. She's one of 15 semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy.

As cited by the CWSA, Hatch was tied for third in the nation with 19 goals this season, had two hat tricks and was the first player to reach 10 goals.
