Six Cougars receive WCC All-Academic awards

PROVO, Utah – BYU women's soccer players Bizzy Phillips Bowen and Michele Vasconcelos were named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic team on Wednesday.

Bowen and Vasconcelos represent two of the 11 WCC players selected to the team. Four more Cougars—Paige Hunt Barker, Elena Medeiros, Stephanie Ringwood Ney and Madie Siddoway received WCC All-Academic honorable mention.

It's the second time for Bowen to be named to the team. Vasconcelos, Barker and Medeiros are being recognized with all-academic awards for the third time. Ney is being mentioned for the second time, with Siddoway receiving her first mention.

Athletes considered for the all-academic awards have maintained cumulative grade point averages of at least 3.20, while contributing significantly to their teams.
