CHICAGO – BYU senior forward Ashley Hatch was invited to the United States Women's National Team camp in preparation for two friendlies the team will play in October.

"We are extremely excited and proud of Ashley and this accomplishment," BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. "She is an amazing player and goal scorer. Our team will miss her while she is with them, but this experience and opportunity is huge."

U.S. head coach Jill Ellis announced her 24-player camp roster on Thursday and included Hatch, the nation's leading college scorer.

Hatch is one of three current college players selected to train with the U.S. team. The other two are Stanford's Jane Campbell and Andi Sullivan. Hatch is one of 11 players invited who have yet to earn a cap with the national team. She joins five other forwards on the camp roster.

The team will train in Sandy, Utah, as it gets ready for a game on Oct. 19 against Switzerland, which will be played in Real Salt Lake's Rio Tinto Stadium. A week later, the Americans will face the Swiss again in Minneapolis. Leading up to the two friendlies, the USA will decide which 18 of 24 camp invitees to include on its roster for each game.

Hatch has 15 goals and four assists on the season. She has notched two hat tricks this season, against Penn State and San Francisco.

Other BYU players have played for age-restricted national teams or select national teams. Current assistant coach Aleisha (Cramer) Rose and Shauna Rohbock are the only invitees before Hatch to the full USWNT.
