Vasconcelos named WCC Player of the Week
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference named BYU senior forward Michele Vasconcelos its Player of the Week for Sept. 4-10.
Vasconcelos played a key part in two shutout wins for the Cougars. On Monday, as BYU beat in-state rival Utah, Vasconcelos assisted on the first goal of the 2-0 win. In a 4-0 win on Thursday against SMU, she scored twice.
On the season, Vasconcelos has four goals. She has 21 goals on her career and moved into a tie for sixth in program history with four career multiple-goal games.
It's the second time this season a BYU player has been named Player of the Week. Ashley Hatch received the honor for Aug. 21-27. For Vasconcelos, its the third time of her career being named Player of the Week, as she was cited in her sophomore and junior seasons.
