Vasconcelos, Hatch lead Cougars over Trojans
HENDERSON, Nev.—Seniors Michele Vasconcelos and Ashley Hatch both found the back of the net as the BYU women’s soccer team defeated the USC Trojans 2-0 in exhibition play Saturday.
Hatch scored in the first half in transition off of a pass from Avery Calton to give the Cougars an early 1-0 advantage. Vasconcelos’s unassisted goal in the second half secured the victory for BYU.
BYU is 4-1 in exhibition play this spring.
The Cougars will play their final spring exhibition matches at home next Saturday at South Field. They will host Utah Valley University at 1 p.m. MDT and Idaho State at 5 p.m. MDT. Both games are free to the public.
