Medeiros and Murphy Vasconcelos earn Scholar All-West Region honors
PROVO, Utah – BYU juniors Elena Medeiros and Michele Murphy Vasconcelos were selected to the NSCAA Scholar All-West Region teams on Thursday.
Medeiros was voted to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team, while Vasconcelos was voted to the NSCAA All-West Region Second Team. Medeiros is a junior majoring in business finance with a 3.66 GPA. She scored a career-high eight goals and added an assist. Vasconcelos is an exercise and wellness major with a 3.44 GPA. She finished with three goals and three assists
Medeiros and Vasconcelos are also two-time West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention honorees and have been on the WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll twice.
For the first time in five seasons, BYU did not have an NSCAA Scholar All-American. Annie Amos, Erica Owens and Carlee Payne Holmoe had received Scholar All-America honors dating back to 2011.
