Cougars host Utah Valley in NCAA First Round
PROVO, Utah – No. 13 BYU women’s soccer will begin its fourth straight NCAA tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14 against Utah Valley at 1 p.m. on South Field.
The Cougars (15-2-2, 7-1-1) face the Wolverines (14-6-1, 7-2-1) in the first round of the NCAA tournament. It is the third time in four years BYU has hosted at least one NCAA tournament game. It is the first game in the NCAA tournament in UVU’s history. BYU has only faced Utah Valley once in the regular season winning 1-0 in 2012 at South Field.
The Cougars won their fourth-straight West Coast Conference championship on Saturday after beating Saint Mary’s 4-1 and San Francisco falling to Portland 1-0.
Utah Valley was Western Athletic Conference soccer tournament champions after finishing tied for second in the regular season. The Wolverines defeated fellow second-place team UMKC 2-0 in the semis before downing host Seattle 2-0 in the final.
Tickets are on sale now at BYUtickets.com. Reserved seatback tickets are $10, general admission tickets are $7 and tickets for children ages 2-5 are $1. Student tickets are $3 or $1 with a ROC pass. Season ticket and Cougar Club members have until noon on Tuesday to purchase their seats before they become available to the public.
