BYU to broadcast 33 matches this season

PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s soccer will have seven regular season games broadcast live on BYUtv and 16 games broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network this season, including Friday’s regular season home opener against Colorado.

BYUtv begins its 16th season broadcasting BYU sports with seven regular season games. BYUtv provides coverage of BYU women’s soccer to 53 million households in the United States. It also offers live HD TV and on-demand streaming on byutv.org, its Roku channel, its app on iOS and Android and its Xbox 360 app.

Spencer Linton will provide play-by-play with former Cougar soccer player Natalyn Lewis providing analysis. BYUtv will broadcast the Colorado game on Aug. 28, Utah on Sept. 4, Utah State on Sept. 10, Oregon State on Sept. 17, Pacific on Oct. 17, Pepperdine on Oct. 29 and LMU on Oct. 31. 

Six more games will be streamed on the West Coast Conference’s TheW.tv platform. The Cougars’ home games against San Diego on Oct. 9 and Saint Mary’s on Nov. 7 will be on TheW.tv. Four road games will also be streamed, they include at Gonzaga on Oct. 1, at Portland on Oct. 3, at San Francisco on Oct. 22 and at Santa Clara on Oct. 24.

For the first time, BYU women’s soccer games will be heard over the air on ESPN 960 AM. Sixteen regular season matches can be heard on 960 AM and espn960sports.com. Fifteen of the matches will also be streamed on the Cougar IMG Sports Network on BYUCougars.com and the BYU Cougars app on iOS or Android.

Voice of the Cougars Greg Wrubell will handle most play-by-play duties on the radio call, while Hugh Van Wagenen will add analysis on home games and former Cougar soccer player Colette Smith will add analysis on the road. For the games against Utah and UNLV, Robbie Bullough will handle play-by-play with former BYU goalkeeper Erica Owens as an analyst against Utah and Van Wagenen against UNLV.

Live stats are available on the soccer schedule page of BYUCougars.com for both home and road games. Home and road games will also be live tweeted on @byusoccer_w and the byusoccer_w instagram account.
