New BYU Soccer Academy begins this fall
PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s soccer announces the new BYU Soccer Academy will begin this fall. The academy will have a fall and spring season which will run seven weeks in September and October and seven more in March, April and May. Registration is now open and the cost for all 14 weeks is $395.
The girls academy will train on Monday and Wednesday beginning Sept. 2. Each session will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All training sessions will be held at Haws Field, the lighted field used exclusively by BYU soccer teams.
BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood will direct and coach with additional support from her staff and current players. The academy is open to girls ages 8-11 who desire additional professional training and coaching experience. Space is limited to 88 girls. Training will focus on the instruction and development of technical proficiency and application of skills in small side drills and scrimmages to challenge and prepare the players for Premier level soccer.
In addition to the 24 training sessions, professional coaching and facilities, registration will also include a BYU Nike soccer kit consisting of a BYU replica jersey, shorts and socks, individual balls and a 2015 season pass to every BYU home game.
