BYU tops Dixie, Westminster in first exhibitions of spring

PROVO, Utah – Ashley Hatch and Stephanie Ringwood each scored three goals on Saturday as BYU women's soccer won its first two exhibition games of the spring 7-0 and 3-0 in the Indoor Practice Facility.

In the 7-0 win over Dixie, Hatch netted a hat trick and added an assist, while Marissa Nimmer, Bizzy Phillips and Ringwood added goals of their own. Michele Murphy scored a goal and added an assist, while Avery Calton assisted on two goals.

Against Westminster, Ringwood scored her second goal of the day off a corner from Sarah Chambers. Murphy assisted on a goal for the second time Saturday as she found Elena Medeiros who dipped a shot under the crossbar for a 2-0 first half advantage.

In the second half, Ringwood scored from her outside back position cutting into the middle of the field and finding an open far corner of the goal for BYU's 3-0 lead.

The Cougars will travel to Las Vegas on March 7 for a 10:30 a.m. PST exhibition at UNLV.
