Cougars announce spring schedule

PROVO, Utah – BYU women's soccer will play nine exhibition games this spring as it prepares for its 2015 fall season.

The Cougars will host two weekends worth of games with the first happening Saturday Feb. 28 in the Indoor Practice Facility. BYU will face Dixie State at 1:30 p.m. MST and Westminster at 5:30 p.m.

Along with the BYU basketball teams, soccer will be in Las Vegas the weekend of March 7 for its first outdoor competition of the spring. The Cougars play UNLV at 10:30 a.m. PST on Saturday March 7. The Rebels finished 9-8-2 last season and tied for eighth in the Mountain West Conference.

On Saturday, March 21, BYU will be in Tempe, Arizona, for a doubleheader against New Mexico State and Arizona State. The Cougars face the Aggies at 3 p.m. MST and take on the Sun Devils at 6 p.m. Arizona State finished 12-6-4 and eighth in the Pac-12 before losing in the second round of the NCAA tournament. New Mexico State went 5-17-0 and finished in fifth place in the WAC.

On Saturday, April 4, the Cougars will take on UCLA at 1 p.m. PST in Camarillo, California. The Bruins were the No. 1-ranked team every week of the regular season and didn't lose a game until the NCAA tournament.

The spring schedule ends with a weekend of games at South Field as the Cougars host Idaho State and Utah on April 11. Game times are still to be determined. Idaho State went 10-9-1 this past season and finished fourth in the Big Sky, while the Utes finished 8-8-4 and 11th in the Pac-12. 

All games are open to the public and fans are encouraged to attend.
