Madie Lyons finishes with No. 3 College Goal of the Year
PROVO, Utah – Freshman forward Madie Lyons' game-winning goal against Oregon finished third in the voting for TopDrawerSoccer.com's College Goal of the Year. Lyons goal won national goal of the week earlier in the year and was the only candidate from NCAA women's soccer to make the list. Even though she finished in third, Lyons' goal is the de facto women's college goal of the year since there were no other candidates from women's games.
Her goal came at the 77th minute mark and gave BYU a 2-1 lead. Her goal won TopDrawerSoccer.com's College Goal of the Week beating out a free kick by Illinois' Janelle Flaws 68 percent to 32.
