Amos, Chambers receive NSCAA scholar awards
PROVO, Utah – Senior defender Annie Amos received NSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team honors on Wednesday. Amos and Sarah Chambers also received NSCAA Scholar All-West Region honors.
Amos, majoring in business finance with a 3.45 GPA, was named to the first team, while Chambers, a junior majoring in chemical engineering with a 3.91 GPA, earned honorable mention honors.
Amos played every minute this season as the only returning defensive starter. She was named WCC Defender of the Year and was also named to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team. She earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll honors for three straight seasons and has been WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention the past two seasons.
Chambers moved from forward to defender this past season and started every game at left back. She earned Capital One Academic All-District First Team honors and was named to the WCC All-Academic Team this season. Chambers has been named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll in two consecutive seasons.
This is the fourth straight year BYU has had an NSCAA Scholar All-American. Carlee Payne Holmoe and Erica Owens each won it twice over the past three seasons. Amos is the ninth Cougar to receive Scholar All-America honors in program history.
