SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Junior defender Sarah Chambers and sophomore forward Ashley Hatch were named to the West Coast Conference women's soccer All-Academic Team. Senior defender Annie Amos, sophomore midfielder Elena Medeiros and sophomore forward Michele Murphy were also named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mentions.

Chambers and Amos were both honorable mentions last year, while this is the first year of eligibility for the sophomore trio of Hatch, Medeiros and Murphy. Chambers was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team last week along with Pepperdine's Ally Holtz, who is one of 11 student athletes on the WCC All-Academic Team.

Chambers is a junior majoring in chemical engineering with a 3.91 GPA from Medford, Oregon, who has started every game at outside back after moving from her forward spot the last two years. Hatch is a pre-communications major with a 3.44 GPA from Gilbert, Arizona, who has scored 17 goals this season.

BYU, Pepperdine and Santa Clara each had two players named to the WCC All-Academic Team.

The Cougars finish their conference schedule on Saturday, Nov. 8 at No. 12 Pepperdine with a 1 p.m. PT kick. The NCAA tournament selection show will be streamed on NCAA.com at 2:30 p.m. MT on Monday, Nov. 10, and the All-WCC team and other postseason honors will be announced on Tuesday.
