PROVO, Utah – Sophomore forward Ashley Hatch was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week for Oct. 13.

Hatch scored a hat trick against Portland and added an assist on the game-winning goal against Gonzaga as the Cougars won their eighth game in a row.

Hatch's hat trick against Portland was the first at BYU in nine years and the 17th in program history. She scored in the fifth, 14th and 83rd minutes against the Pilots. It was her first career hat trick, third multi-goal game this season and fourth straight game where she had scored a goal.

On Saturday, her assist across the box to Elena Medeiros led to Medeiros' gamewinner just out of reach of the goalkeeper at the far post.

The WCC Player of the Week award is Hatch's second this season in a span of two weeks and third of her career.
