PROVO, Utah – BYU Athletics and the Cougar IMG Sports Network are teaming up to expand coverage for BYU women's soccer in 2014 with live audio play-by-play from select matches called by the longtime "Voice of the Cougars," Greg Wrubell.

Wrubell will partner with BYU men's soccer assistant coach Hugh Van Wagenen. The Cougar IMG Sports Network will broadcast the alumni game on Aug. 16, the road opener at Cal State Fullerton on Aug. 22, the home opener versus Washington State on Aug. 25, a Labor Day afternoon match against Baylor on Sept. 1, at Utah Sept. 5, home versus Long Beach State on Sept. 13, home against Oregon on Sept. 18, at Denver on Sept. 25 and at SMU on Sept. 27.

"I'm very excited to be a part of the Cougar IMG Sports Network's new association with BYU women's soccer," Wrubell said. "Coach Rockwood's program deserves the additional coverage opportunities this arrangement will provide, and I'm eager to bring the passion of play-by-play to the team's many fans in Cougar Nation."

Cougar IMG Sports Network broadcasts of BYU women's soccer matches will be heard exclusively at BYUCougars.com and on the BYU Cougars app, beginning with pre-game coverage 30 minutes before kickoff.

Wrubell has worked as the radio play-by-play voice for BYU men's basketball since the 1996-97 season and for football since 2001. He has served as a Utah Youth Soccer Association licensed coach and has followed BYU women's soccer as a spectator over the years.

Van Wagenen played soccer for George Mason University before serving an LDS mission to Sweden. After he returned, he played for the BYU men's soccer team for four seasons before joining the coaching staff as an assistant in 2012. Prior to his coaching career, Van Wagenen worked as an analyst for soccer games on BYUtv.

"We are thrilled to have Greg involved with our team this coming fall," BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. "He does such an amazing and thorough job as the voice of BYU football and basketball. I know Greg has a passion for soccer and is very knowledgable about our sport. He will provide the opportunity for our fans to follow us more closely and hopefully increase our exposure to all his fans and followers, as well."

This fall, BYU women's soccer will start its 20th season as two-time defending West Coast Conference champions and will look to make the NCAA tournament for the 16th time in program history.
