No. 24 Cougars travel to Gonzaga, No. 6 Portland
The No. 24 BYU women's soccer team travels to take on Gonzaga and No. 6 Portland this week. The games will be the Cougars (9-4-1, 3-1-0) final two road games of the regular season.
BYU will play in Spokane, Wash., on Thursday against Gonzaga. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. MDT. From there, BYU travels to Portland for the WCC Women's Soccer Game of the Week on Saturday at 8 p.m. MDT. The game will be streamed live on TheW.tv.
Last week, BYU beat Pepperdine 1-0 and Loyola Marymount 2-0 to improve to 3-1 in league play. The Cougars are currently in third place in the West Coast Conference, three points behind No. 14 Santa Clara and Portland. Thursday's game against Gonzaga will mark the midpoint of conference action.
Last Saturday, Portland beat Gonzaga 2-1 in overtime. The Pilots (12-1-1, 4-0-0) needed a 93rd minute goal off an indirect kick in the box to beat Gonzaga (5-7-1, 1-2-0). The Bulldogs scored on an own goal by Portland. The match was the only one last week for both teams.
