Manning wins WCC Player of the Week
BYU's senior midfielder Rachel Manning was named the WCC women's soccer Player of the Week for Aug. 26. Manning scored two goals in the Cougars 3-1 win over Cal State Fullerton. She scored her first goal of the season in the 26th minute off a free kick from Paige Hunt. Manning scored her second goal of the game in the 78th minute after Ashley Hatch drew a penalty kick and Manning slotted it past the goalie to give BYU its final margin of victory.
The two-goal performance doubled Manning's career total from two to four. She had scored two goals in her previous 64 games, but netted two against Cal State Fullerton.
The No. 6 BYU women's soccer team take on Nebraska this Saturday at 7 p.m. at South Field.
