PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s gymnastics team hits the road this week to take on the University of Arizona Wildcats, Friday the 17th at 7:00 p.m. MST, in Tuscon, Arizona.

The Cougars are coming off a tough home defeat against the University of Denver. A few mistakes in the beam rotation led to a flurry of mistakes throughout the rest of the meet. The team is working hard in practice and hopes to be able to apply what they know they can do during the meet.

“We just need to get motivated and excited,” senior Jennifer Lezeu said.  “We’ve been amazing in practice. We just need to transfer that into competition. We need to pick the intensity up, and be excited and pumped to be in the gym every day.”

The key to improvement for the Cougars will be focusing on being consistent.

“We’ve got to get to hitting,” head coach Brad Cattermole said. “Hopefully the meet last week kind of kicked everyone back into gear and they are working on their concentration and working on staying up through the entire meet. We’re capable of doing better; we just have to do it.”
