BYU Accepts Bid To Regional Hosted By Georgia
With a regional qualifying score that left them 10th in the country, the BYU women's gymnastics team accepted an invitation to compete in a regional meet hosted by No. 3 Georgia April 1 in Athens, Ga.
The Cougars finished the regular season with a regional qualifying score of 195.585. Because the top 12 finishers in the country can be invited to any one of the six regional meets, the Cougars didn't know until Monday where they would compete.
BYU will join Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina State, Towson State and George Washington in the region 6 meet.
"We're pleased with the selection to go to Georgia," BYU head coach Brad Cattermole said. "I feel like we're getting to the point where we're ready for that kind of meet."
The top two finishers in each of the six regional meets will advance to the NCAA national meet April 13-15 in Boise, Idaho.
