Rio Tinto Best of Utah ticket information released
PROVO, Utah — BYU gymnastics will participate in the fourth annual Rio Tinto Best of Utah NCAA Gymnastics Meet on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at the Maverik Center in West Valley.
BYU finished the 2022 season ranked No. 24 in the nation, and first in the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference (MRGC). The nation took notice of the Cougars as the MRGC named coach Guard Young the MRGC Coach of the Year and former Cougar Sadie Miner-Van Tassell as MRGC Gymnast of the Year. Amongst the returners is Elease Rollins, the 2022 Beam Specialist of the Year and All-American Award winner.
In 2023, the Maverik Center will be hosting a weekend of high-level gymnastics with the Best of Utah Meet on Friday, followed by the inaugural Wasatch Classic on Saturday, Jan. 14.
The Rio Tinto Best of Utah event will begin at 7 p.m. MST on Friday evening. The afternoon session of the Wasatch Classic will begin at 3 p.m. MDT, which will feature Washington, UCLA, Minnesota and Boise State. The weekend of gymnastics concludes with the evening session at 8 p.m. MST, which includes Oregon State, California, Iowa and Pitt.
Tickets: University ticket holder’s exclusive presale for Best of Utah will begin Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. and run through Monday, Nov. 14 at 10 p.m. Ticket holders will have access to an early bird discounted pricing during this time. All tickets will go on sale at full price to the general public on Monday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m.
Ticket prices for the Best of Utah Meet range between $25-$50, and tickets for the Wasatch Classic are $15.

RIO TINTO BEST OF UTAH
Utah has won the past three competitions at the Maverik Center against its in-state competition. The Red Rocks finished third at the NCAA Championships last season. Jaedyn Rucker returns as the reigning NCAA vault champion, as well as 2020 Tokyo Olympians Grace McCallum, Amelie Morgan and Kara Eaker. Utah State finished the 2022 season ranked No. 23 and returns 12 gymnasts from last year’s team. Southern Utah was ranked No. 28 at the end of the season. Utah State, BYU and Southern Utah all advanced to the NCAA Regional rounds in 2022.
