Eight Gymnasts receive WCGA Scholastic All-America Awards
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – BYU gymnastics had eight gymnasts named Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-Americans, the association announced Wednesday.
To be named a WCGA Scholastic All-American, a gymnast must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The Cougars combined for a 3.097 GPA, while the eight WCGA All-Americans earned a 3.5 or higher.
Overall, the association had 53 teams and a record number of student-athletes (1,077) with a GPA of 3.5 or more. This is the second year in a row where more than 1,000 student athletes were awarded All-American honors.
This is the fourth-straight year that Rachel Bain Heaton and Brittney Vitkauskas have been recognized. Abby Beeston is now a two-time recipient of the award.
