Abbey Miner-Alder prepares for NCAA Championships this Friday

PROVO, Utah – On Friday, April 16, the semifinals of the 2021 NCAA Gymnastics Championships will commence in Fort Worth, Texas, where BYU senior Abbey Miner-Alder will make her nationals debut.

Traveling as an individual qualifier on the floor exercise, Alder will compete in the Dickies Arena with No. 8 University of Minnesota in the first semifinal at 12 p.m. CT. Other teams competing in the session are No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Florida and No. 6 California. 

A second session will be held later that evening at 5 p.m. CT, featuring individual competitors, No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Utah and No. 7 Alabama. 

The individual national champions on each event and in the all-around will be decided after both sessions on Friday. Winners are chosen based on who holds the highest score of the day.

The top two teams from each NCAA Semifinal will continue on to the NCAA Championship Final on Saturday, April 17 at 2:30 p.m. CT.
