No. 12 BYU heads to West Virginia for NCAA Regionals

PROVO, Utah – A top seed in the Morgantown NCAA Regionals, No. 12-ranked BYU prepares to compete this week in West Virginia on April 2-3. The Cougars are the No. 2 seed in their opening session on Friday and the No. 3 overall seed in the 10-team regional.

The Cougars are coming off a major win at the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference, maintaining the conference title for the second consecutive year. 

Competition will kick off on Thursday, April 1, when No. 33 Penn State and No. 35 West Virginia battle it out in the first round. The winner between the two will advance to the next day of competition. 

The second round of competition takes place on April 2. BYU will compete at 1 p.m. EDT against No. 5 California, No. 27 Ohio State and No. 28 Towson. The evening session will feature No. 4 Michigan, No. 13 UCLA and No. 29 Kent State and the winner between Penn State and West Virginia. 

The top two teams from each second-round session will compete in the Regional finals on Saturday, April 3. The top two teams in the Regional finals will then qualify to compete in the NCAA Championship meet on April 16-17.
