MRGC crowns Sadie Miner as Vault Specialist of the Year
Miner headlines three Cougars receiving postseason MRGC vault honors
LOGAN, Utah - The MRGC crowned BYU sophomore Sadie Miner as a 2020 Vault Specialist of the Year, celebrating her average score of 9.850 on the event.
Miner is sharing the honor with SUU senior Madison McBride and Boise State junior Gabriela Bouza. The three gymnasts tied for the best National Qualifying Score (NQS), matching Miner’s 9.850 average.
Their NQS earned the three first-team All-MRGC on the event. For reference, this award is typically given at the MRGC Championships. However, due to the current global circumstances, the MRGC used overall NQS as criteria for the awards.
In addition, junior Abbey Miner and junior Avery Bennett achieved second-team All-MRGC on vault, earning an NQS score of 9.840 and 9.830, respectively.
Vault is the first award to be announced. The MRGC Bars Specialist of the Year and All-MRGC bars honors will be announced on Tuesday, March 24.
